Concert Review: Sebastian Mikael Is A VIBE At Baby’s All Right
Going to a concert can truly be like entering a literal aesthetic. Escapism is nothing without style, and Sebastian Mikael offered that. On the night of his performance, Baby’s All Right felt like a meet and greet at Howard; intellectualism and jazz brimmed from its wall of light bulbs thanks to Mikael’s presence.
From the beginning of his set, Mikael set up that he was going for carnal sophistication; aiming for the poetry you find as you kiss your lover’s skin. His literal, first song of the night, “Vibe,” was about wanting to grab his woman’s lady bits while away from any material distractions like, phones or cars.
My reaction:
Yes, I clutched my pearls and tossed them away in admiration for how Mikael lyrically turns the flesh and bone of living into tenderness and elegance. He uses his voice like a hand reaching out for someone whom is as tired as him of a world that seems more filled with shiny things than bright people. Thus, he hits higher and higher vocal notes like a call to those that love to look good but like feeling it better.
Sebastian Mikael – Vibe [Official Music Video]MIkael has a voice that can go so high in pitch, it might as well be the Lord’s alarm clock. From “Mission” to “Dad” Mikael’s voice and sound feels coolly adventurous. He smiles and orchestrates his band as if life, literally, lives in an instrumental suite, which makes his music push boundaries. Yet, make no mistake. To push a boundary does not, necessarily, mean you are doing something that should not be done; it means you are doing something no one has tried, which is why he attracted an audience that saw him as brilliant and magnetic. The people were so happy to be there, impressed by his wry humor and melodic symphonies, that I, literally, thought it was open bar. LOL! I was in awe of the joy, but good, unique music has the capacity to be enough of an influence to turn the air you breathe into a cocktail.
Sebastian Mikael – Mission [Official Music Video]There is so much to be impressed with when it comes to Sebastian Mikael, and that is the point. He first wants to impress you with his afro-futuristic, jazz stylings and then entertain you with them, which means he is aiming for a consistent following. People will always come to see who they know no one can replicate, and, in swag and rich vocality, you won’t get another as boldly sultry as Sebastian Mikael. For More Information Click Here.
