Concert Review: Young Devyn Is A Walking Manifester
Watching Young Devyn, I felt, similarly, to Doja Cat when it comes to young, ambitious women whom are determined to claim a limelight that will, one day, claim them. In essence, the stage is a like a “return home” for them, and all the glam and costuming is actually their truest form. At Gramercy, Young Devyn lit the stage on fire and she KNOWS she is walking gasoline.
Honestly, it is so rare to see an artist the KNOWS they are a superstar and embody it in full mode. For Young Devyn, she walks on the stage as if she know the paparazzi are waiting for her, and raps her songs as if she can hear every single person reciting it back to her like the Bible. Absolutely every fantasy we have of fame lives in her mind and she will manifest it for herself because her lyrics are literally casting spells; she is spitting verses on a life that is destined for her and, again, it is so rare to see someone with that certainty.
There are great artists out there, but few think they are destined for greatness. To be honest, most of us are just trying to convince ourself we can be good enough. Yet, there is a viral TikTok video that says the art of making your dreams come true is to be delusional. You have to think you are the best to get the best, and believe it with such sincerity that no one doubts you. No one doubts Young Devyn… not even herself.
