Concert Review: Kewin Cosmos Is The Leading Man At MHOW
I see it now; Kewin COSMOS HEADLINING BARCLAYS! At Music Hall of Williamsburg, Kewin Cosmos was a Bachata god. The Brooklyn native is lining up to be the next music sensation, and I have no doubt he will become it. Why? Because he approaches the stage like the leading man in Love’s novela.
Bachata is an “easy bop” genre meant to connect bodies and souls through their passions for the other person. Kewin Cosmos’ understands that. He holds the mic as if it is the “love of his life.” At times, he caresses her as if to reveal she has turned him vulnerable. Other times, he grabs her: begging her to never leave. While, sometimes, he pushes her away as if his pride cannot let him say that he wants her to stay. In turning his microphone into his woman, he created a hidden “novela”; making spectators watch him enthralled and wondering “Will he or won’t he find love?”
It may seem “basic”, but people eat romance up, and Kewin knows this. He flirts with the ambiance: as if an atmosphere is something you can hold in your hands. Moreover, he coyly smiles to the crowd with a twinkle in his eye, which made the ladies clutch their hearts as if he was every member of One Direction in one person. Yet, it made the guys clutch their hands as if to swoon them into a dance. This dynamic confirmed to me that Kewin Cosmos is going to continue to soar. His voice is not just calming; it almost feels unthreatening. It is as if he sings to soothe love into loving him in return.
I know it strange to say that someone’s voice felt un-vicious and un-malicious, but, part of his leading man charm, is that he feels like the man that would never hurt you. Yet, from “La Pesadumbre” to “Evidencias,” every tracks discussed how sex and love can feel like life and death matters. Somehow, another person can dominate our life to the point that, even losing them, changes us into different persons. Yet, after his MHOW show, you know there is absolutely no way that Kewin Cosmos will eternally searching for love because he got it from that audience. For More Information Kewin Cosmos Click Here.
