Quarantine Diary #3: Looking Inward, Finding Fun (The Playlist)
Okay, I was looking to make a moody playlist today; assuming that the whole idea of “looking inward” deserved some indie tracks and total vibes Imagine my surprise, when all I wanted to here was a gut-busting, booty-shaking soundtrack for my day. Hence, this playlist may be titled “looking inward” but it will make you dance outward. After all, looking inside can be fun… if you are a fun person.
These weeks of quarantine have been up and down emotionally; sometimes, all in one day. One minute you are having a panic attack at what feels like a impoverished future, and, in another, you looking up when Lady Gaga’s Chromatic will finally drop. Life is a weird blend of happy/sad. I can’t tell you how many people I know who have either contracted Covid or, at least, lost a job contract because of it. Yet, they are trying to find hope by doing things they never did like, learning instrument or exercising. The point is you have to keep going because….. you have to. That’t it. There is not other version of you that can keep going for YOU!
I know its rough, and this summer is NOT going to be as lit as we want it to be, especially with this weird “some states are re-opening/ expect a second wave to happen” dynamic that has swept through the nation. Now more than ever, America can feel divided between the stupid and cruel versus the desperate and good. Yes, I said “desperate and good” because I would love to go back to normal. Yesterday, I surprised my mother by revealing to her, it was not only Friday, but mother’s day. My hope is that she was surprised by the day, and not the fact that she is mother. Either way, little moments like that, are fill time mean something. Whenever I think of my happy moments they were laughing and dancing someone, and this playlist will get you to do both: dance someone and laugh at me. HA! Enjoy!
