Concert Review: The AG Club Is Open For Membership

SOBs is a staple for Hip Hop in NYC. Housing thousands of acts across their stage for 40 minutes of Heaven, and a hopeful launch into their dreams. As someone that has gone several times to watch up and comers, AG Club was, for sure, one of the funnest acts. They felt like a breathe of fresh air to a scene that has felt a little stale lately.

In New York music is everything, and there is not one corner of these streets that does not have an artist. With so many, its strange to feel like there is, almost, a lack of originality: something a few of the press crew have mentioned. Sure, there are many acts, but what is the second coming of music because it is not only Chapell Roan or rather Roan of Arc after her VMA´s performance. While they may not share the same sounds, they did share a similar vibe that is coming: accessibility.

Call it a new election year energy, but the feeling that people can hang out with you and laugh with you and your witty commentary is important. When it came to songs, AG Club brought delicious beats that hit the air like ice cream on hot summer´s day: it just one lick after another of good, sweet sounds. Lyrically, their speed was on hyper drive, but it was their energy and confidence that totally made them feel separate and unique. Their crowd wanted to party with them and their buddy Bradshaw and DJ Rio.

In the audience’s minds, the music was the soundtrack to a really good party that AG Club was throwing. Lyrics sipped in their mouth champagne, and they all acted like they were more at some house or frat party than a show, and THAT IS SO IMPORTANT. Chappell Roan has, literally, become famous because people feel they know her and her story. She shows the new wave of celeb is not exclusivity or fantasy, despite her heavy costuming; it is the grounded feeling that, if we hung out, we would have a blast, and AG CLUB give that feeling. They are apart of that new wave.  For More Info Click Here.
