Concert Review: Carolesdaughters IS ANGST INCARNATE!

Carolesdaughter showed up at Baby’s All Right as if she knew we all were ready for a rebellion. She was the equivalent of the saying “putting your hair on fire,” without making that phrase seem “chaotic.” In a way, she embodied that its the world that lights us on fire, and “chaos” is just accepting the burn.

I find it ironic that I use “hair” as a reference considering that each of my existential crises can be documented via haircuts and hair colors. What can I say? When you feel different than “yourself,” you decide to look it. In a way, that is what carolesdaughter embodied to her fans; the choice to stand out and be the “goth kid” in a world that for however dark my makeup, tattooed my skin, or pierced in my body I become, I will never “look” as scary as this world is. In essence, if you think I am terrifying than you are the real terror. Yet, to continue irony, carolesdaughter is about as soft as a teddy bear.

You FELT she loved her fans and they loved her. Together they had formed this “outcast club,” and had the banter and bond you would see in a bunch of friends, hanging out, in an empty classroom making fun of the teacher and feeling so giddy about auditions to something. In essence, she transferred the laughs and tears we have at a world that makes us a “joke,” while making her fans feel smart and cool enough to be in on “it.” Think about it… if you are “in” on how people see you, doesn’t that make their view feel less and your self-vision, oddly, more?” For More Info on carolesdaughter Click Here.
