Artist Close-Up: Jayda G Asks Are U Down?
Jayda G is so smooth to me. Similar to Park Hey Jin, she has turned groovy soundscapes into entrancing ones. Her ability to revive disco and make it coolly hypnotic is fascinating because, by definition, disco is not chill. In fact, many of the funkadelic and R&B classics that define us are, technically, not chill. They ask us to move in the same way love has move us, which is why we shake the dance-floor. Yet, in her EP Both of Us/ Are You down, out July 3, she makes you float through the dance-floor.
BRAVE NEW WORLD Official Trailer (HD) Alden Ehrenreich
With four tracks, Jayda G lulls phrases of love in the same fashion as Park Hye Jin. I know I am comparing them a lot, but both women are changing the conceptions of DJs by bringing an artful emotionality and atmospheric effortlessness. They are going for the minds within a rave and churning every romantic motivation we have for escapism: from heartbreak to lust. In Jayda G’s case, the motivation is connection, and the desire to feel someone in every way. The result is an EP that shows her future is game-changing for the DJ world by inviting audiences to dream of love while they sway with chill. For More Information on Jayda G Click Here.
