Album Review: Larkin Poe Show The Clash of Venom & Faith
In life, everything is balance, but gaining a spiritual “center” takes a lifetime. This explains why faith can be both virtuous and venomous. It can lift our spirit or chain it to a delusion as if were a truth. Yet, this is not just a “religious” problem. Faith motions through every aspect of our life because no person makes a move in their life without believing it will bring their forward, of which Larkin Poe’s Venom & Faith observes the lines between poison and promise.
Made up of sister Megan and Rebecca Lovell, you cannot resist this duo’s voices. From “Sometimes” to “Good & Gone,” their harmonies feel awakening; with Rebecca’s voice summoning your soul to court. She has a raw emotionality that calls you to face a self-jury and testify! Hence, songs like “California King”and “Ain’t Gonna Cry” turn your mind into a literal record player; whirling around the lyrical thoughts you have when you see you have nothing. So many times, the friends, lovers, dreams, and beliefs that once filled you turn into your emptiness. Yet, to Larkin Poe, there is nothing to fear in this truth because it is apart of growing up.

If the same things fulfilled you throughout life then you are not being simple; you are being stuck, Life is meant to be explored, and even your longest relationships should feel like journeys of constant discovery. Songs such as, “Honey Honey,” “Blue Ridge Mountain,” and “Fly Like An Eagle” are all about the permission we give ourselves to grow our interests or say that the old ways are no longer working. From how we love to who/what we love, Larkin Poe promote revamping your life to see when you are taking venom and believing a dead relationship can become a faithful one or not trusting enough that your are in a loving path. #truth

Larkin Poe’s Venom & Faith continues my journey to find fierce women in country and rock that speak to humanity. I have noticed that these genres, like most ones, are not always open to women or, at least, a lot of them. The same thing goes for my search/ promotion of female rappers. Thus, Larkin Poe’s new album is enriching to ladies trying to change into stronger women, and men seeking a female perspective on how to also become resilient. After all, it is how we relate to each other that serves us venom or faith. For More information on Larkin Poe and To Buy Venom & Faith oN November 9 Click Here.
