Artists of 2020: Georgia Is Seeking Thrills

If there is one thing Londoners or Berliners like in their song, it is a synthesizer. They love a good, electro rhythm that turns a song into a possible, gameboy match. Georgia is taking note and in her sophomoric record, Seeking Thrills, is like an electric wasteland of youth and I LOVE IT.

Listening to Seeking Thrills is like walking through a European music festival. You’ll hear the random couple fighting as the music blasts, you’ll find the group of girlfriends living life as if they don’t have to clock in to work at 9AM, and that one person quietly having an existential crisis on a beanie chair while drinking a Heineken. UGH! I love being young and alive. Ultimately,  Georgia gives you a hyped soundtrack into the emotional highs and lows of partying, and not many can capture the sentimental, lava pit of the dance scene quite like her.

For most youths, including myself, the party scene can have a weird blend of fun and sadness. Sometimes, we go out to to have a blast and other times we go to try and escape. Trust me, these motivations bring different dynamics to the night, and Georgia’s narrative singing allows her to set the scaled spectrum between the fears that make us move and the love that makes us dance.
