Diandra Reviews It All EXCLUSIVE: For Ashlynn Malia, Love Is “Temporary”

Coming out June 25, rather be alone, is Ashlynn Malia’s debut EP and my personal logline on Tinder (lol!). (Note: I don’t know why no one is swiping right?) The truth is relationships can be hard: in any form. They challenge to always be better for our relationship or in counter to it. The stress of loving someone when you have no clue how or if you even love yourself is why, sometimes, wanting to be alone is necessary, and Ashlynn Malia has the cool, pastel vocal tones to flower this nuanced truth. Hence, her new visuals for the track, “temporary” are giving me life.

Temporary is lyrically refreshing because  it captures a part of us that wishes we could have the most passionate, FIVE second romance in the universe and walk away like nothing. Imagine that! Being able to go through the motions of the greatest love affair in history in just one night, and then  feel like nothing the next day as you get your Egg McMuffin. Yet, I’m not talking about numbness and nor is Ashlynn. We are talking about being able to be in love and walk away quick and unscathed. #temporary With her looking at herself in the mirror, and admiring herself, she is singing to just wanting to be able always, first and foremost, love yourself to love someone else, which I agree.
