Concert Preview: Global Citizen Festival 2018 Is Changing The World Through Music
Janet Jackson, The Weeknd, Cardi B, and Shawn Mendes are uniting to give a free concert at Central Park, but there is a really good catch! Since 2012, nearly 16 million actions by Global Citizens have helped generate commitments and policy announcements from leaders valued at over $37.9 billion; affecting more than 2.25 billion people with interventions that range from vaccinating a child to providing one year of education. Yet, all this began in music or rather a music festival called Global Citizen Fest, which is coming back, again, this year.
How To Earn Tickets Video
For years, the biggest stars have come together for this festival to inspire people not to give their money, but to give their time, voice, and attention. In this world, it seems like everyday a person, in need, is asking for a donation. Yet, with most of us struggling to get by or saving up for a potential struggle, help seems impossible if not monetary. I truly believe more people want to help others, but they fear losing the little means they have. Hence, Global Citizen Fest invites potential goers to gain tickets through their support and promotion of social media campaigns that demand world leaders to give money back to their communities. In essence, the everyday person is showing the powerful and wealthy that they are watched, while showing the poor that they are being looked after.
There are absolutely no festivals like Global Citizen, of which they ask you to be an advocate to gain a ticket. All you have to do is give your voice, and you will be able to hear the voices of John Legend and Janelle Monáe singing live. It truly is a musical festival born in nobility, and the simple belief that if you speak up for those in need than you deserve an exceptional night of music.
