Concert Review: Eljuri Is The Best Guitarist Ever (FIGHT ME ON IT!)

Better than Carlos Santana! Better Than Jimmy Page! Better than Eric Clapton! BETTER THAN JIMI HENDRIX! I said it! Eljuri is BETTER, but it is because these men are extremely talented in their spheres, but Eljuri might as well be a space cadet with how she zooms through planets of sound. She can do a quiet, mournful track or an anthemic, “power to the people” song in varying genres. At Joe’s Pub, she showed her audience her power, as a musician, comes in treating her instruments like a person and treating every person with compassion.

In our interview, Eljuri discussed how she sees her guitar like a companion; a person she confides in and creates with. It was a beautiful notion she conveyed with loveliness, in our interview, and in her performance. Yet, seeing her live, and witnessing how she promotes justice fearlessness, unity, and peace, I realized that it is her heart that makes her an exceptional musician. Passion makes you an artist, but love makes you a revolutionary. You get in the game because you like what you do, but you aim to change it because you love it. Eljuri’s style is so vast and virtuous that, in her own way, she has turned kindness into a sonic frequency.

Eljuri – Resiste (Vibe Video)

As a presence she is so easy-going, flowing genre to genre and English to Spanish, with a the mystic fluidity of a mermaid. Yes, I compared her to a mermaid (lol!) Yet, these sea creatures are known for their harmony with the ocean, and, to Eljuri, that is what a guitar is: an endless ocean of emotions transferred into chords. I have, consistently, compared heartstrings to chords because there are certain artists that see it as such. Hence, again, Eljuri’s mastery of the guitar comes from her love of people, and her belief that music can make them love themselves.

ELJURI – BangBang (Video Oficial / Official Video)

Playing a lot of new songs from her latest, wonderful album. Resiste, Eljuri’s is unabashed about her desire to better this world, and her belief that your politics are your moral choice. If you are not for the equality, prosperity, health, and happiness of all then your politics are immoral, and no formalized or “witty” speech can cover that from people who listen with their heart. As I watched the crowd look at Eljuri as if she had just come off the train from Heaven to play and needed to catch the next one back in an hour, I saw that music truly clears your ears. You listen better if you feel better, and Eljuri does exactly that. For More Information On Eljuri Click Here.
