Concert Review: Jack Gray Is A Rising Superstar In Brooklyn Steel
Watching Jack Gray perform at Brooklyn Steel, I, literally, thought, “I am so glad I am watching him while he is still affordable.” (lol!) I felt like I was watching the first show of a megastar, and Jack Gray has all the potential and talent to become one. There will be comparisons of him to Justin Bieber or Shawn Mendes because he has a boyish nature, sweet charm, and an X-factor. Yet, he also has song-writing capacity that totally hits the spot for Generation Z’ers seeking more than heartbreak songs.
While love, or the lack of it, is a central theme to music, there are many situations, habits, and relationships of love that go ignored. We are fascinated by the love between two people that go from strangers to knowing everything about their partner: from body to soul. Yet, before we reach such Shakespearean levels of cosmic love, we also “Drunk Talk” with our friends or deal with suicidal thoughts/ family tragedies (“Take Our Time).” While he has his “fall in love/ break-up” tracks like, “Don’t Know My Name,” he not only speaks about new themes but he says new things about old ones.
Jack Gray – Red Rental Car (Official Audio)Jack Gray is a story-teller; holding a conversational, down-to-earth attitude with the crowd that exemplifies what people are seeking in their pop stars like, Ed Sheeran. They want to feel like they could, actually, hang out with you at either their local pub or in your million dollar yacht. Thus, Gray’s ability to be both a star and a regular person had iPhones up by song 2. This may not seem like a big deal, but Gray was the opener to the opener. There were only around 30 to 50 people in Brooklyn Steel, to which he laughed at how, probably, no one knew him. Yet, they liked him, and, for that, they felt compelled to record songs he was, literally, introducing as first-time plays. Still, humor and humility go a long way with people, and they go farther when you have a talent not many can match.
Jack Gray – My HandsGray is a fantastic guitarist; matching a level of showmanship with pop catchiness that is not seen often. It’s not easy to make a simple, chorded melody feel like it was born for the Guitar Olympics, but it is Jack’s ability to be casually great that made him accessible. He is a reminder that you can be a good person with a great gift, Thus, as his lithe, calm voice willowed notes like a young man trying to recount his fun day, positivity emanated from the stage. Again, it was another attribute that could make Jack a megastar; making feeling good feel right and easy. For More Information On Jack Gray Click Here.
