Concert Review: Louis Futon Brings The Summer Heat To Bowery Ballroom

“Thank you for growing with me,” said Louis Futon to his Bowery Ballroom crowd. The quote was perfect in solidifying a night of building, transient bops, and the overall feeling that Louis Futon’s fan club is going to grow a LOT. Over the years, the DJ has grown in style and swag to become an embodiment of summer jams. In NYC, he gave a sold-out crowd a heated night of laughter and dance that prepared us for the oncoming 90 degree weather.

As he mixed, drummed, and strummed his guitar, I kept on thinking, “Yeah, this guy is going to get bigger and bigger;” not that he is not already. That night, people were sweating and moving as if they had prepared weeks in advance to show off their dancing talents. Let me reiterate! People were not swaying or doing a light two-step. This was a night of FULL ON choreography that allowed the Bowery Ballroom ambiance to mist with a feverish fun. Moreover, it allowed Louis Futon to show he is a producer of hits that command people to actually MOVE!

I could see Louis Futon, literally, making radio hits for Ariana Grande, Quinn XCII, or D.R.A.M. He has a style that bounces with a light breeze of trop-beats but currents with pop synth-waves. In essence, if he was in the ocean, his music would definitely be flowing towards a Caribbean beach-front; mixing mainstream parties with an eternal summer vibe. Hence, it was no wonder the night felt consistency energized. It was as if the audience and Louis had, literally, charged their spiritual batteries just before entering the club; making me realize, again, the power of DJs.

I said it with Polo & Pan; DJs are not to be diminished for what they offer as a concert experience, but you cannot go and just see any DJ. Every DJ offers an ambiance or rather an atmosphere of a particular fantasy. For Polo & Pan, it was a chill, summer vacation in Cannes, and fro Louis Futon it was a crazy night out with a Pop King and Queen. For More Information On Louis Futon Click Here.
