Concert Review: LP Giobbi Is My New Fave DJ At Avant Gardner
UGH! I LOVE TO DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love to dance l ike I was born in the choreography room at the Alvin Ailey DanceSchool. I think I am professional when I break it down, and genuinely could care less if I look more broken than rhythmic. The perk about LP Giobbi is that she makes a space feel safe to have fun.
If I am the first person to laugh at my own jokes, LP Giobbi is he first person to dance to her own songs. Franky, I, and the crowd, LOVED IT. Knowing you are awesome is not arrogant, unless you think you are Awesomeness Incarnate. Frankly, I don’t know if LP Giobbi could know how cool she is because she is so casual and happy; making being “cool” feel like a foreign, unnecessary term. Reforming three sets, she danced with Haiku Hands and Sofi Tukker, like she apart of their bands. The way she smoothly fit as both a backer for other artists and a star for herself was impressive.
LP Giobbi may not have been the headliner or “the name” to attract ticket buys but she completely won that crowd. She jumped on speakers, shook to her beats, and smiled the whole time. Her joviality was infectious, and made 5000 people her fans. Moreover, her mixes are, once again, for dancers. I thought I was in a salsa club in Brazil. I was scoping Latin America for tropical beats to bring to the disco, and LP Giobbi had them all on LOCK! For More Information On LP Giobbi Click Here.
