Concert Review: Sylvan Esso GIVE ME LIFE At BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!
I CAN’T EVEN! That is what I feel and repeat when I watch Sylvan Esso. I simply CAN’T. They are so good that they have deduced my review into basic, but highly emotional statement like, “I Can’t!”. Seeing them again, after their Brooklyn Steel show was like seeing old friends that you wish you could see everyday. Amelia Meath & Nick Sanborn should NEVER change!

Meath & Sanborn are like the best “ying and yang” I have ever witnessed. Meath is simply the chattiest, funnest person at the party. She wore what seemed like 20 inch sneakers and bounced around that stage like Lebron at the NBA finals. She has so much energy, and never appear tired. Even she takes a swig of water, you feel that it is more so to cool down the influx of energy rather than replenish. I point out this difference because when you see someone become the physical embodiment of adrenaline, you would think they would look uncontrollable or insane. Yet, Meath is effortless and fun, and her chemistry with Sanborn gives everyone #friendshipgoals. Sanborn has a sweetly, dry wit like a crisp Chardonnay, while Meath is pure bubbly. Their casual convos and jokes inbetween songs like “Radio”, “Die Young”, “Just Dancing”, and “Hey Mami” had me impressed. How can you go from the fire-cracker sounds and dance crazes of these tracks into a brisk discussion of your day? It was their ability to turn up and turn out, and then charm the audience and each other that proves Sylvan Esso are also #professionalgoals.

I love Sylvan Esso. I believe they are one of the best acts I have every seen, and seeing their show again, of which their setlist did not change, I felt more moved by their talent. It was the same songs and artists, but yet I made a dynamic, happy memory that was distinguishable their last show, and makes me want to see them a third time.
