Concert Review: Wizkid Makes SOB’s LIT
With entourage abound, Wizkid played a free show at SOB’s to the disappointment of NO ONE. No openers, just a star was the motto of the night, as Wizkid glided through the stage in what was, literally, his solo show, and the beginning of his determined quest to conquer America. After all, you cannot become a music/ global phenomena, without taking over the music capital of the world: NYC.
WizKid – Come Closer ft. Drake
It is hard to go into detail of Wizkid’s NYC show because he, honestly, could not fail. His album, Sounds From The Other Side, is a guaranteed hit after hit at the club. There was non-stop cheering and dancing as SOB’s became a locational example of what it is to be LIT. Drinks sipped and while rhythms slipped, Wizkid used the whole stage like it was his kingdom. He walked back and forth throwing the occasional “Africa!” and “Represent” to the glee of the crowd, of which flags were “repped”. The joviality of the night was infectious because people had come to “get down”, and KNEW that Wizkid is one of the few artists that serves such rhythmic fun. As a PSA to his concert, let future goers know that you MUST dance at his show. There is no casual staying in the back OR SITTING! Eep! Even Wizkid never loses a moment to move and flirt with crowd. He so blatantly adores their adoration, and could not stop smiling as they reached their hands out for a touch, held their phones up for a pic, and called his name out in admiration.
WizKid – Sweet Love
So far, Wizkid’s goal of domination is going WELL! His show is literally a party, and a permanent memory in everybody’s brain. How can you forget the laughs and “choreography” you tried as afrobeats and love rhymes were seductively evoked at you as like lyrics are physical caresses?.
