Concert Review: Wolf Alice Takes A Bite At Bowery

Wolf Alice was EXACTLY WHAT PEOPLE NEED at Bowery Ballroom. I have marked my hyper-sensitivity at being back in the concert world because people are sensitive. Maybe, it is my inner empath but I FEEL the inner churning and low-key density moving within people. Don’t get me wrong! People felt rough about life in 2019, but, in 2021, we feel rougher and Wolf Alice has grown as a band so perfectly because it transfers life’s roughness into sonic edginess.

Wolf Alice plays like a live-action Quentin Tarantino film. If I didn’t walk out of their show looking like Vincent Vega’s wife in Pulp Fiction, then what was my life’s purpose. Honestly, I came in with my frizzy curls and mask mandate to walk out in leather, red lip stick, and slicked back hair. THEIR SHOW WAS LITERALLY TRANSFORMATIVE! Yet, this was done through balance. People want to vent, but they also want to dream, and Wolf Alice have a way of making you picture yourself like the badass of a Marvel film.

Ellie Roswell is Captain Marvel. For REAL! She can Brie Larson her way through songs with such cool, confrontational energy, you both do not want to mess with her while, simultaneously, wishing you had her cell phone number so you could call her every time your local bully came after you. She, herself, has transformed as an artist that 100% knows what she stand for and it is riveting to watch. TRULY! There is nothing more exciting seeing someone embrace their power and wield it so easily …. You start taking up your own. For More Information On Wolf Alice Click Here.
