Concert Review: Youngr Makes You Jealous At MHOW

I think everyone wishes they were a talented musician. Arts like painting or songwriting entrap us with their capacity to express vivid imaginations and ideas that, verbally, fall mute. Thus, seeing all the instruments Youngr plays, at once, causes you to have a life-crisis/ jealous fit. He has “hooked” himself up by avidly working to expand his talent in every way that is music. At Music Hall of Williamsburg, you came to eat the fruits of his labor.

Picture it! Imagine a mass field of every berry you could dream, but these fruits are juiced with rhythm. Youngr’s job is plucking and picking each fruit until they turned tracks like, “Obsession” or“Remember,” into the seeds of human nature. Vocally, he etches his voice as if he as an internal button he presses to automatically release soul. Thus, I truly believe Youngr is rising in international fandom because he brims with optimism, which is why he excels in so many talents. You have to be positive to move yourself forward, and every track he creates promotes this truth; believe in your greatness to manifest it.

This notion may seem simple or obvious but, most of us, have a hard time saying, “I am wonderful!” On the contrary, we, probably, call ourselves horrible and presume it us being “humble.” Yet, to Youngr, making yourself believe you are less is not humility; it is stupidity. True humility is rising up to having a good time and being a better person, which is why the crowd was eating up every word, every rhythm, and every smile he created. The keyword being “created.” He really does make his music and performance feel life-giving; as if you are watching the process that turns a dream into a sung reality. Hence, there was so much love and peace in that room, I think sage lit itself. You cannot fight good vibes, and Youngr provides them with a sort of EDM twist.

Similar to Jeremy Zucker, Youngr has a one-man band/ DJ vibe that makes his concert feel like a mix between a casual, acoustic show and and electronica event. He makes the cosmic feel intimate by simply being a friendly guy that can do everything! SIMPLE! He is a one-man party, but my obsession with his rising career comes with the notice of the crowd. As his audience grows in size and people proudly proclaim how they always “stanned” Youngr , I smile. When people start to become possessive over when or how much they know about you, it is because they feel foolish for having one instance when they were not admiring your talent.
