Concert ReviewL Hailey Knox Is A Hardwired Star At Public Artst

Hailey Knox’s voice feels like someone put an icy-hot on your spasmed heart. For awhile, your heart was clenching and clutching on feelings of unworthiness; making your insecurities feel as if they are “hardwired” into it. Hailey is talented, pretty inside and out, and garnering a following that 100% agrees she is a star. Releasing her first mixtape, Hardwired, Hailey was excited to introduce to Public Arts the songs that are literally about to launch her career even further, but, before that, helped her build her self-love.

Hailey is humorous, thoughtful, and, most importantly, learning the lessons on how we can, we can either “hardwire” ourselves to be our own enemy or “hardwire” ourselves to fight off the many enemies that will replace themselves. From the boys we once loved to those that could never be our friend, Hailey’s new music confronts that in the same way not everybody will like us, but we will not like everybody. “Traumatized,” “You Do You,” Runaway,” and “Bitch, Bitch, Bitch” were all about her being the “lesser power.” The one her boyfriend thinks he can “talk” to like that, other people/ “haters” believe they can make fun of, or her own ego motions to crush her very spirit. !”

Frankly, when you see Hailey perform songs that feel like soul and folk decide to a have a modern romance, you want to ask, “How could YOU EVER DOUBT YOURSELF?” or “Who made fun of you? I want their name!” It is crazy to know how everybody struggles to see their value, particularly, for the greater good. Yet, Hailey’s presence is firmed in a noble and welcoming grace that is quick to declare what, how, and who it loves. Thus, she feels like the sweet “Hello” you get from a stranger that cheers your dreary day, and she has a voice that could compete with the morning sun in power and potency. She riffs, belts, loops, constructs, harmonizes, skats, and strikes every instrumental and vocal note with her sweet touch. It is as if her voice is a baker, and her music is the cake.

Hailey’s guitar melodies cream and frost lyrics that feel thick but soft; making depth edible.Yet, her voice is the beautiful garnishments; the little flowers, fondant sculptures, or pearls you see on the cake that shape and make it particular to you. Often, we think that our cake is ours because of how it tastes, but everyone buys the red velvet or chocolate. In essence, Hailey shows that everyone tastes the bitterness of rejection or the berried drizzles of self-loathing, but it is her music that turns universal pains into your individual treat.
