Diandra Interviews Madi Madej: A Country Singer With Positivity As Her Key To Success

Being a teenager is not easy, but being an ambitious teenager like, Madi Madej might be even harder. The country songstress dreams of reaching the impact that her favorite singers, Faith Hill and Taylor Swift, have garnered in bringing the heart of country to the heart of the world. Such a dream is major, and needs a lot of positivity and perseverance to make come true, which Madi Madej has in bundles in this interview.

Diandra: You have been writing ever since you were a child. Naturally, there have been changes to your writing style. Which have been the biggest changes, but more interestingly, what do you find the same?

Madi: The biggest changes for me is that I have more to write about as I grow up, but at the same time continuing to keep a positive message in my songs.

Diandra: I really love that, in your music, you aim to bring a sense positivity and virtue towards others. What virtue would you say is most lacking in the world right now that you feel music can reignite?

Made: I would say that the one thing that I feel is most lacking in the world right now is the understanding that there is a purpose for your life, a reason for you being here. I feel like music has such a huge impact and motivational factor that if there were more songs helping people identify their purpose and not so many songs that are just about love or about personal agendas, more people would discover their purpose and maybe be motivated to make a difference in the world.

Diandra: What song makes you feel most positive about life, and why?

Madi: Right now I would say Rise by Katy Perry. When I hear that song, I feel that whatever gets in my way I can get through it and Rise above it. It makes me feel like I can do anything that I set my mind to.

Diandra: Being positive and creative are not easy to be, especially, at times, all at once? What are the rituals or things you do make sure you energy, both positively and creatively, is up?

Madi: There isn’t really a specific ritual that I do, we all have our down days, but it is not what happens to us it is how we respond to what happens to us that is the key. I just try to live my life as positively as I can so when those tough times come, I don’t stay down for very long. With that attitude, it helps with my creativity. I feel that our ideas come from the things around us, so if you look at things from a positive perspective then your ideas tend to be more positive.

Diandra: As mentioned, you began your love music as a child. Describe the first moment music “spoke” to you on a spiritual level and you knew it was your path.

Madi: I began my love for music as a dancer when I was little. I wasn’t a great dancer and was pretty awkward but it still eventually allowed for me to get a feel for the music. To not only dance to the music but hear the lyrics of songs, especially in the ballet songs. It kind of spoke to me and I knew that somehow music would be in my life.

Diandra: What is the most exciting thing, for you, about your future in music? Why?

Made: The most exciting thing is that I get to touch peoples lives and one day they could say that because of you I didn’t quit or I did something that I thought I could never do. Also, I still have so much to learn because you really never stop learning and growing and that also makes me excited.

Diandra: Are you working on a new song? If so, what is its conception and would you like its ultimate theme / message to be? (Can you give us a lyric idea?)

Madi: Of course. One that we are working on now is called Perfectly Imperfect. So many times we think we have to be perfect to do something great, but I hope to let people know that we are great in spite of us being perfect, instead we are Perfectly Imperfect, so let’s go make a difference in the world and stop worrying about how imperfect we are!

Diandra: Who in your family has been the most supportive of your dream, and what is the best advice they have given you?

Madi: I would say my Dad has been the most supportive of my dream. The best advice he has given me is to discover my purpose early in life and to pursue that purpose regardless of what others say.

Diandra: Tell me 5, random facts about yourself that would interest people about you as an artist and person?

Madi: I have a special needs brother who is the reason I have a positive outlook on life, I’m a valentines baby. Academically, I am in the top 10 of my class. I have been to the Bahamas, I have only had one pet, a Border Collie named Harley.
