Song Review: Danger Mouse Dares You To Chase Him

Award-winning producer and artist, Danger Mouse, will release the soundtrack for Edgar Wright’s highly anticipated film, Baby Driver, on his Columbia Records imprint 30th Century Records this June. The much buzzed about film looks exhilarating and fast in action from its trailers and now from its first single, Danger Mouse – Chase Me (ft. RTJ, Big Boi). Danger Mouse is rising hight from the success of his record label and with good reason he speeds verses like gasoline upon a race track.
Danger Mouse – Chase Me (Music From The Motion Picture Baby Driver) ft. RTJ, Big Boi

There is no denying the throwback vibe to Chase Me. It brings back to modern day the bassline and boisterousness of classic 90’s Hip Hop that confronted the danger of a life of crime while adding the heart and flesh of men forced to live so recklessly .Personally, I love hearing an artist and knowing there is NO ONE the can match them in swag and sound; any copies will be deleted. Still, what drives the felt quickness of the track are the rhymes of  Run The Jewels’ Killer Mike and Big Boi, whom are both rappers lauded for both their signature styles and vocals. As the rhythms course throughout song, you feel the sirens ringing and the energy kicking like you are genuinely apart of a chase.  It is that mentality that has driven Danger Mouse as an artist and now head of 30th Century Records. He understands to be different is to be gold, of which he has signed other exceptional musicians like, Autolux, Sam Cohen, Maybird,  and Dams of The West.
