Em & The Fates is a Brooklyn-based septet whose rich three part harmonies and soul/pop arrangements hark back to an old school soundscape – glittering with nostalgia, yet anchored in lyrics evoking contemporary themes. There theme for their new “Beautiful Life” is exactly as titled. Loving life is blatantly cheesy, but what is so bad about that? Everyday people knockdown those that celebrate life’s beauty, but those same people complain they wish they could see it? If you are one of the “Negative Nancy’s”, then give yourself an opportunity to live like a “Positive Patty”. Em & The Fates are going for a cheesy adoration to life and its beauty by celebrating the gorgeousness of love.
