I am LIVING for Mura Masa. This young man knows how to make a beat that rushes you with instant happy. He has completely mastered the “on the way” tracks, which are the songs you play when you are on your way to somewhere. Whether it be work or to hangout, you press play on these tracks to feel enlivened and prepped up for whatever is to come. Mura Masa’s self-titled album make life feel like it has finally arrived.

Absolutely, every song on this album is made for radio and club, which is why you will find yourself listening to it all day. Its inherent jolt of energy can be felt in songs such as, “Messy Love”, “Nothing Else (feat. Jamie Lidell)” , and “Firefly (feat. Nao)”. Mura Masa has the tendency to twinkle and bolt his rhythms as if they were a pack of stars lost in a labyrinth. It is befitting such a feel because all of his songs are about relationships. From “1Night (feat. Charli XCX)” to “Second 2 None (feat. Christine & The Queens)” each songs plays to the different questions, doubts, and joys that touch our minds when we have given our hearts to someone. Should I leave if he cheats?
