Album Review: Peter Bjorn And John To Release Their Best Album Yet, Breaking Point!

Peter Bjorn and John are releasing on June 10 their newest record, Breakin Point! How do I say my feelings towards this album in a “light fashion”? I LOVE IT!!!!! I can literally cry from the happiness it gives me. It is a literal stream of joy into your soul that will leave you smiling as if the only news you receive is good news. It is THAT good!
Peter Bjorn and John’s newest album is like a sexy discotheque. The album begins with a track that is the epitome of fun: Dominos. The track sets the tone of the album: DANCE! There is no way that you will not dance to this record nor feel like life is a conquerable/ enjoyable feat. Moreover, Peter’s voice is so rich in resonance to Paul McCartney’s. They just have this unique way of emoting/ annunciating words with a firm wonder.  Like McCartney’s voice, Peter has vocal chords that were destined to build the narrations of the band’s naturally journeying songs.
What You Talking About?
From its beginning, the album paints an idea of youth. You can instantly envision your youthful self with friends laughing, dancing, and exploring the world with an invincibility only the young contain. As I mentioned, the record sounds like it is the soundtrack of every sultry, French discotheque. You just want run on a light-up dance-floor with your friends and sing along to every track. The lyrics emphasize a sense of self-discovery and self-reflection that makes it incredibly timeless. Absolutely, every Millennial will listen to this album and find sentiments and stories that capture their personal journey.  It’s Your Call and Between The Lines feel like two introspective pieces of a soul.  The beats are like hypnotic hums that back up the sweetly casual but pensive words. Thus, Peter Bjorn and John’s real gift is their ability to make the most eloquent, heartfelt lyrics pass through you like a healthy contagion.
This album is one of the most infectious, surprisingly intellectual records you will buy. If you actually listen to the lyrics, you can witness some of the coolest commentaries on humanity’s inner workings and need for self-encouragement.  Each song is like an injection of joy. As the happiness hits your bloodstream, you find that music can actually heal any inner malady.
Dominos
Peter Bjorn and John are indie legends. They are a staple of synthetic pop that has lasted decades because of their articulate musicianship. When you hear this album, you will hear the clear, crispness of their creativity. Each song has layers of instrumental details that make you feel the amount of genius in their orchestrations.  The drums, guitar strums, and keyboard unite to create a whirlwind feel. It is as if their acoustics have surrounded you in an effort for you to join them in beat. The band’s use rhythm is a roadmap into your heart. Again their lyrics feel like they were written by a philosopher trying to tell his “story”, i.e. Nostalgic Intellect or Hard Sleep. There are moments, especially in these tracks,  where you are in awe of the love Peter Bjorn and John place into their music. There is no denying that this album is a love letter to their fans.  Immediately, it sounds like a greatest hits compilation.
After a few years of hiatus, I am incredibly elated that Peter Bjorn and John have returned and with, possibly, their strongest album. I CANNOT say anything wrong or bad about this magnificent album. It is hard for me to dare say that I liked one track over another. The whole album is excellent. Usually, when you buy an album, you have your few favorites and the others that you can “mentally scrap”. Yet, every track in this record makes you fall in love with music and its power over you.
