Scribz Riley Is Branching Out On His Own

I am always fascinated by the artists that come from building other artists like, Julia Michaels, Bruno Mars, and even Mariah Carey. They started as songwriters and singers for others artists, and have even outshined the very musicians they once called “boss.” Yet, that is life or to get biblical, ““many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.” Okay, I am not mentioning that quote because, suddenly, I am rocking an “End Is Nigh” sign and screaming the words “REPENT!” at your local, subway station. Instead, it is a recurring theme in Scribz Riley’s music, of which he has written for the like of Cardi B, H.E.R., and Khalid.

There are two stories people will always love; a love story and resilient story. We eat up tales of underestimation; the couple or hero that were so discounted and ended up living a happier, better life. In some way, that is the idea of Hip Hop and R&B. Sure, the material focus of these genres can sweep some listeners to think them gaudy or flashing wealth with no substance. Yet, they also sing to conquering all the haters and nay-sayers, and gaining something, power and money, that no one thought you would have. What makes Scribbz different is not that he changes the theme as much as the approach. He has built-in serenity and observance to his vocals and verses; feeling like a man that leaves his body to then float and analyze life from a better distance. Okay, now I am getting into astral projection, but the point is that he define “having more” as a soulful phrase.
