Part of the vogue and KIKI runs on the idea that low funds does NOT MEAN low living. To make a statement you need more than money; you NEED a voice. Hercules & The Love Affair is all about celebrating that inner “voice” of yours that is more than volume; it is a plethora of fierce thoughts and confident love, of which Rouge Mary “a gender non-conformist” of Algerian heritage takes on vocals. From “Omnion” or “Controller” to “Through Your Atmosphere” Rouge Mary feels like the helping hand guiding your through the most magical, nightlife you have ever experienced. Mary sincerely reminds me of the Disco Divas from the 70’s like Donna Summer, Candi Stanton, and Gladys Knights. As electric rhythms course in the back-drop, these ladies offered their voice as a beacon of soul, and Mary Rouge does the same. You cannot help but peer in as Rouge pours out verses that feel like they were Witten by a literal star. Just imagine that! What if a literal star smashed its light, and from that the vocals and lyrics of Mary Rouge were born to enliven those whom are dreadful .
