Concert Review: Tigertown Are A Cheer Squad At Music Hall of Williamsburg

Tigertown ripped Music Hall of Williamsburg like it were a banner in a Highschool football game. The busted through it with cheers and a winning adrenaline! I had the pleasure of reviewing them before, and seeing them again reminded me of how fresh they can make your night feel. Tigertown completely captures the zipping energy of victory; of that feeling you get when you know you have championed over something or someone. Such a vibe falls on the back/ voice of lead singer Charlie.

Important Note: When someone wears a t-shirt saying, “Safe Sex”, and a display of 50 sexual positions lined up like an alphabet….. YOU HAVE MY ATTENTION! Yet, that is the playfulness and rambunctiousness of Charlie. With tight-glossed, leather- black pants she high-kicked through tracks, “Lonely Cities”, “Make It Real”, and “Warriors” as if she was the coolest femme-ninja. It is hard, when watching her, to not want to get out a not-pad, and mark all the reasons why ladies kick-ass, and thus I can, too. She owns the stage her sweet mischief, and her piercingly high-vocals. A helium-induced singing contest could not compete with how how high Charlie goes, which is why her eagerness to make you feel connected seems so potent. With such a voice as in songs, “Golden Sky” and “Papernote”, you have to zero into what she wants from you: fun and kindness. There was not one moment when she did not reach out to an audience member and, ultimately, stayed to chat with fans. PEOPLE KNOW I LOVE WHEN ARTISTS DO THIS! Gratitude is my personal odyssey! Everyday, I try to show and remember appreciation for what I have, which is not easy Oprah! Yet, Charlie is grateful, and you can see it in her warmth with the crowd, her music, and even her husband Chris. Like Charlie, he stands before the audience ready to pump everyone with a Music IV of Fun. He claps as members. Elodie, Kurt, and Alexi swing through their instrumentals like t-shirts being tossed as a souvenir to the audience. Overall, Tigertown feels like a cheer squad for your life.
Tigertown – “Lonely Cities” [Official Video]

I love cheer-leading in concept…. because I cannot partake in the execution lol! Yet, Tigertown feel like a quartet of happy people to cheer you through your day if you let them. There songs have an anthemic under-current that turns tracks like, “Come My Way” into three-minute pushes for you to love your life.
