Concert Review: Cam Shows The Power of Humanity At Baby’s All Right

There I was, listening to the sweet vocals of Cam, and watching a man flick his tears from his face like they were unwanted mosquitoes. I could not blame him; “Village” is a beautiful song that deals with grief through lyrical art. Yet, I also saw a huge, burly guy sing Cam’s campier “Half Broke Heart” with his full heart breaking through. Cam’s impact on grown men was as important as her influence over women during her Baby’s All Right concert.

The country music scene is not the kindest to its female artists. From Spotify to radio, women barely get 5% of play; the claim being that no one wants to hear “feely” stuff and presuming that women truly identify with Toby Keith’s “Red Solo Cup”. Though I love the track, Cam is an artist for women who want to feel like they are going to see their best friend, and men learning how to feel better about feeling. For Cam, each of her songs felt like therapy for different issues, which is why she took her time to discuss inspirations and laugh at her many mishaps.

After the intimacy of loveliness of her concert, I could prescribe so many Cam songs for wisdom on how to deal with so many of life’s issues. Want to know how to forgive yourself for hurting someone you love? Hear Cam’s “Burning House”! Want to learn how to see your failures as valuable? Listen to Cam’s “Palace”! How about learning how to let go of a toxic lover? Try Cam’s “Mayday”! From men to women, Cam’s show was about humanity, and the highs and lows of being emotional beings. No matter what gender, we all feel; the question is how do we feel happiness? Something Cam is figuring through her sound and spirit.

I do not know one person that did not fall in love with Cam as a person, which made everyone cherish her talent. Finally, a good person doing well for themselves; THANK YOU JESUS! With a voice so clear and soothing, healing crystals felt competitive, her hour and a half show was filled with funny Sam Smith/ David Boreanaz stories and tear-jerking, but truthful wisdoms on what it is to think through feeling bad. As Cam said to the crowd, after a lovely rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, “Songs are frequencies, and a good song could reveal a common scar.” We all share wounds as much as we share wishes, and Cam is the artist you put on when you want to feel like you can share both with someone.
