Concert Review: Conan Gray Is Grace With His Fans
For a secret show, Conan Gray packed Public Arts, and it was a wonder to watch. Gray’s fans eat up his every word, which is why I enjoyed his new songs and hippie-esque looks. He is a positive person that wants everyone to, genuinely, feel better about their lives. This may sound generic, but it is, actually, graceful.
Conan Gray is one of the most generous, graceful, and joyous artists you will ever see, which might be to the chagrin of a few people who want to stay mad. He is the type of person that could look up at an Apocalyptic sky, and say, “Well, at least, I am with the people I loved.Thank you!” I am type of person that goes into fetal position and announces, “Welp, we’re gonna die. Ugh!” He is a half cup full kind of guy, while most us do not even know where the cup is, which is why I find him such a good icon for his younger fans.
I think if more people felt good about themselves they would be open to making others feel good, as well. The way Gray interacts with his fans, picking up their love letters, hugging them, and being open about his struggles with love, is so casually refreshing because he can say nothing and everything, all at once. I know that may sound like an insult. Yet, at one point, all he said was how it sucks to be single and, at times, he looks at couple’s jealously. It was a super simple statement, but it ricocheted and reverberated like an emotional boomerang. It was a truth that many would to acknowledge, “Hey, I am jealous of couples!” Yet, he said it with such a sincerity that, again, it was nothing and everything, all at once.

Gray is a fun pop-star, but he touches upon a major factor, currently, dominating the rise of Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Billie Eillish: they are superbly personal with their fans. They DM them, write them letters, go out of their way to meet them, and even Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift have paid for their fans student loans and college tuition.
