Concert Review: Flatbush Zombies Give A Freek Show

Flatbush Zombies never fail in serving a show that is pure Hip Hop at its finest. It is bold, loud, vulgar, virtuous, deranged, dazzling, and even pushing for progressivism. Each member is a distinct personality working together to form THE FLATBUSH ZOMBIES in the same way the Avengers would align to save the planet. While in my original review of their work, I called them “Mitch McConnell’s Nightmare,” I am happy to say… THEY STILL ARE!!!!!!!

Flatbush Zombies embody everything the triple-chinned bandit from Kentucky bonafides as “degenerate” because we all know he does not see “color.” Excuse me as I laugh like The Joker. Yet, BK Steel was PACKED with people that, honestly, could not tell that this show was a “Holiday Special” because every Flatbush Zombies’ show feels like Halloween. It is, by nature, a gregarious, gaudy  production that would make Frankenstein say, “F**K, My Creator.” Erick Arc Elliott, Meechy Darko, and Zombie Juice unite for anyone that feels like the coolest outcast to be ignored.

FLATBUSH ZOMBiES – ‘HEADSTONE’

Never in my life have I seen a mosh pit with a man in a wheelchair in the middle. Whether he wanted to be there or just said “F**K It!’ I’m here, he was right there with a bunch happy drunkards who see Flatbush Zombies like the punkest group in Hip Hop. They are the Monstars coming to crush Bugs Bunny and co so they remember there is no Space Jam without them. While their boisterous nature is always on display in their sound, it was their pseudo – WWF match that completely summed up their vibe.

FLATBUSH ZOMBiES – ‘New World Order’ (Official Video)

When The Joker comes out to fight The Flatbush Zombies, I swear Adult Swim could not have written a better, cross-over event for one of their cartoons. It was a moment that captured how, in some way, Flatbush Zombies feel like an animated fantasy: Adventure Time meets The Boondocks. They intersperse higher thinking with guttural feelings; throwing a party mix into their society shades, and I was sipping it up like an Atlanta Houswife. The result was a show that will be repeated every Halloween. FOR SURE! Click Here For More Information On The Flatbush Zombies.
