Concert Review: Gallant Shows The Art of Body Language At Terminal 5

Gallant is known for his high pitch. He strikes a high note in the same way an archer shoots a targeted arrow: with clarity and uncanny precision. His stunning falsetto can shatter any inhibition or hesitance the crowd feels in investing to his performance. You are here to watch a concert, and watch you will. Still, the beauty of Gallant, is that he proves listening is empowering.

It really is a marvel how high Gallant’s voice can reach, especially for a male artist. Most expect a woman to have her notes soar like a rocket to the sky, but Gallant shows men can equally reach them. So far, audiences have been awed by his wondrous vocals. When you see him live, you feel like you are watching a magic trick and ask “How did he do that?” Yet, witnessing Gallant in concert, is more than just high notes; it is a testament to the power of body language.

Weight In Gold

Whether he adamantly studied previous electric R&B/Pop greats or he has a natural, legendary aura, Gallant has realized, that to make a soul rise, you put your body into it. His dancing is spastic, frenetic, and vibrant in energy. He almost appears like an electric chord flashing through the stage. He runs around and moves like a man whose body has been taken over by its own song. The crowd went absolutely wild. They were magnetized by both his movement and the passion that went into his vocals. You knew when he was going to hit a perfectly high pitch because his body would take a God-like pose to reach it. Fortunately, for the audience, he always did.

Gallant’s high notes and dancing were like a permission card to love and feel sexy. I looked at the audience to see couples and persons closing their eyes, trusting the music would release their inner fun. Not one person did not have a good time. On the contrary, they had a memorable time because Gallant’s music makes you feel sultry.  Of course, his sound can be placed in the old adage/genre of “love-making music.” Yet, it is his ability to make you feel like you could be confident in your body/self that makes him one to watch.

Gallant’s style in presence and music is certifiably fresh. You feel renewed and empowered through his songs because they allow you to acknowledge goodness. As everyone danced in joy, his performance reminded me that music gives meaning. It is about letting go of all the unnecessary baggage we carry, to enjoy each other. Although his sound promotes the sultriness of love, his riveting performance exudes self- love.Check out Gallant’s official website here
