Concert Review: Hailey Knox Breaks Free At The Box

The reason Hailey Knox is a rising star is because she is stunningly beautiful inside and out. She approaches the stage completely unaware that she will leave her audience inspired while confident in her talent. The idea may seem to clash, but that is what is charming about Knox. She is both unaware and conscious, all at once.
If you check out her youtube page, you will find that Knox has risen to stardom for her uncanny ability to make unique covers. Thanks to her exceptional guitar skills and an ear that can hear music from the wind, she can manifest a rhythm like a goddess. It truly left me dumbfounded to see her build a band, in essence, by herself. Onstage she would create backing vocals and instrumental sounds through hums, ooooh’s. and aaaahhh’s. As I looked into the audience, I saw young women and men close their eyes and wave their hands in praise. To them, Hailey appeared like a spiritual guru. When you hear her words you understand their sentiment.
Their is a soulful, poignant resonance to Hailey’s lyrics and vocals. Firstly, the control she has over her voice is like a wise gardener. By now, she knows what seeds to plant and how much water to use to make sure her vocal roses grow. Her voice is light with a smoky edge. She mixes low, deep melodies with high pitches to create, what I call vocal rhetoric. This is when an artist uses different ranges speedily and interchangeably to create emotional weight and endear listeners to her melodic rollercoaster. It is a trick Whitney Houston often used, and though they do not share the same voice, they do share similar usages. They view the annunciations of lyrics as keys to emotions and personal charm. The idea is right.
Not one person walked out of her show without feeling empowered. Knox’s presence is casually fierce. She makes you feel that if at a young age she could be so cool and hopeful, why can’t you? She is a promoter of virtues like, peace, self-love, and determination, which can take lifetimes to realize. That kind of personal power is what makes her an artistic one. Trust me, when you see Knox live, you will feel good, which is exactly what a concert and person should make you feel.
