Concert Review: Kindness Is Spread At MHOW
If kindness, the virtue, was anything Iike Kindness, the artist, I think we would all be rocking kindness a little more. I would be kind all over the place. Throwing kindness over there! Being kind over here! I would be SO kind! (Lol!) Yet, all jokes aside, at MHOW, Kindness was a call to respect both the love you give and the love you receive.
Playing off one of the best albums of the year, Something Like A War, Kindness and co sang to the goodness of goodness. The spiritual electricity you feel when you know you can let your guard down and be safe and shine in the arms of a fellow human being. Let that beauty sink in because, as you grow older, you realize kindness truly is a rare gem. Yet, while Kindness’ lyrics embrace the riches of a soulful, sensual connection, his music leaps from the quietness to the “it’s time to get down” portion. This makes his show feel like you have walked into the Garden of Eden, and you and your Adam have two choices; eat the apple or go to the dancefloor…. you decide.
Kindness – Hard to Believe feat. Jazmine Sullivan (AUDIO VERSION)
With an outfit that looked tailor-made by Queen Zara and flowing locks, Kindness became our fierce leader in the art of Boogie; even soul training into the audience and inviting people on stage as if we could not love the night anymore. The band was eager to connect with people and make fun feel like a spiritual experience; as if every time you feel good a church is made and an angel winged, which of course led to crazy dancing and a vibe that could only be compared to Prince and The Revolution. We were partying like it was 1999 and making sure no doves cried, of which Dev Hynes, a.k.a Blood Orange, making an appearance assured the latter.
Kindness – Raise Up (Single Version)
Admittedly, I was expecting Kindness’ artist friends to come through and guest appear. Why? Because Kindness is an artist’s artist, and, like Julia Michaels, has acclaimed friends that talk about their genius and their heart as equally stunning. Kindness is a creative mastermind and so is Blood Orange; both uniting forces to make what could be no less than a TOTAL VIBE. Yet, low key, I was hoping Jazmine Sullivan would walk onstage to perform Hard To Believe, but, as a health precaution, I am glad she did not appear because I would have died. So… SAFETY FIRST! Undoubtedly, Kindness’ tour, like his album, is ONE TO GET! Sincerely, you will have the time of your life. For More Information On Kindness Click Here.
