Concert Review: Miles Francis Is The Greatest Entertainer At Mercury Lounge

Miles Francis has to be one of the best performers I have ever seen. He gave Madison Square Garden to Mercury Lounge, and turned an early crowd into what felt like a festival one. While most concerts are a celebration of an artists’ talent, Miles Francis uses the stage to regale that he is a creative entertainer.

From David Bowie to Beyonce, the most legendary entertainers understood/understand that when you come to see them, it is because you love them. They turn their concerts into the worlds they imagine in their heads, and Miles Francis turns his show into a Venus- Love Den. “Complex”, “Take It”, “Desire Your Love”, and “You’re A Star” were like cosmic ads to love yourself, love someone else, and JUST LOVE! Even lyrical doubts and difficulties cannot stop Miles’ zest for life, and embracing it, not with his thoughts, but his dreams.

From the minute he begins singing, you feel like you are watching Jesus Christ Superstar. He even hits “Gethsemane” notes, hailing his voice to go higher and higher until winged chariots fall back in Heavenly competition. Seeing such talent work so hard for you to be entertained is humbling. Every single body movement he made was with two intentions: heighten the dramatics of the song and heighten your experience of the night. From pulling his hair to fighting with his hand, you watched his insanity become genius. This man ran across Mercury Lounge, from the stage to the bar to outside and back to the stage, while riffing on his guitar and previously doing splits and wheelies. Not only was I stunned by his agility and musical stamina, but I felt moved that he planned to extend himself body, soul, and previously asked how the vicinity works just to give us that moment.

Miles Francis is an excellent performer because he is a generous one. He really considers how you can have the best time, and has created a music that feels easy despite being complex. Harmonies of his voice layered over drums that packed over melodies that draped over keys that brightened. His arrangements are 100% spacey, but leave you dancing through all its instrumentals like they are glitter being happily thrown over you. It was electro pop galore from an electrifying performer. In other words, if Miles’ Francis could literally pour out his heart like water that stage would have been drenched. For More Information on Miles Francis Click Here.
