Concert Review: Seth Glier Is A Replenished Man At Berlin NYC
Seth Glier makes me want to sit by a creek, and look at the sky. This may not seem like a “big deal”, but in a world that is and feels in constant motion such an instant can make you feel guilty. The idea of stopping to smell the roses is a beautiful concept, but, in real life, we usually feel too silly or busy to do such a thing. Yet, Seth Glier’s Berlin performance was a rosed moment, in which a young man stopped the world for an hour to sing it a few song.
Glier has all the makings of a folk-pop star because he elaborates the importance of accessibility. When you think of accessibility you might associate the word with either an elevator or a friendly, point person, which are not “off” images. Glier emoted tracks like, “For What It’s Worth”, “Water On Fire”. and “I’m Still Looking” as if he was an access point to the crowd’s feelings. He became the literal embodiment of the above scenario, I explained, and made his voice a creek in which watering lyrics could cool the skin of your soul Suddenly, Berlin NYC went from a place to stop to a place OF “stop” because Glier has one the most distinct and desiring voices in music. He evokes the human spirit’s penchant to want things that go beyond what is like, love. Glier had created guitar melodies that pushed listeners to see if you do not stop to look at your life than you cannot say you have a vision for it.
Previewing songs from his upcoming album, Birds, it was clear that Glier wants to give a replenishing vibe, and part of rejuvenating yourself is taking a step back and witnessing how you participate in the world. It seems Birds, for Glier, is his personal meditations on how he has been dreaming for himself. Yes, he is talented, kind, and witty, but what is the point of all these attributes if you only give them away, and never absorb what they retain for you. Hence, Birds, is a new, musical step for Seth Glier because personally he is a newer man, and one that wants to stop and look at the roses/ music he is growing for the world. Or, in another more relevant analogy to his new album, a bird can only fly better if he stop to see how his wings soar in the wind. For More Information Seth Glier Click Here.
