Concert Review: Xavier Omar Ignites Cuddles And Twerks At Webster Hall
Between tracks “Thief” and “What We Do,” Xavier Omär exemplified why the likes of Summer Walker and Brent Faiyaz are on the rise; they have put into the sound the love we have for others but think about when we are alone. Celebrating what is one of THE BEST albums of the years, Moments Spent Loving You, Xavier Omar gave a show that felt destined for audience sing-alongs, light twerking, and the good vibes that come when couples get boozy, friends gets goofy, and all you want to do is sit back and revel in it.
There is something really exhilarating about thinking of someone you love. Your heart races at the thought of them, and your soul expands as you wonder of the ways you can make them happier and, in turm, make yourself happier. Obviously, we don’t tell the ones we love how much we think of loving them, but music allows us to enter that space, and Xavier Omar’s Webster Hall show did exactly that. He observes sound like an ambiance you build to search for how your soul connects “soulfully.” In essence, how a human being does the most humane thing anyone can do, which is love. Such a virtue 100% describes his voice.
Xavier Omär, Sango – Deep End (Audio)
It is easy to call Xavier Omär a teddy bear; he is tall, sweet, encouraging, and has a voice that ignites cuddles. Part of why I KNOW he is on his come-up is by the audience reaction to him, which was similar to SiR. He was the “mood” vocalist for people looking to find their longtime partner; the ones unafraid to say they wanted to anchor down, in life, but needed a song to show how wonderfully terrifying that desire is. Hence, he paces through the stage singing to the audience as if he was seeking someone to understand him. His demeanor asks, “Love is crazy, right? But I’m glad I am mad with it?” Add on that his rhythms make you want to shimmy your shoulders and wear a Boho skirt just swing it around, and Xavier Omar practically brought summer to winter.

Personally, I am SHOOKETH it is December 2019. We are entering a new decade and it is not even that cold in New York. Yet, Xavier Omar felt like the artist of Summer 2020; as if we were seeing someone who was going to be soundtracking our future hangouts and lovers’ playlist. Still, most importantly, he knew it. He approached the crowd with humble confidence; a man who knows his silky voice was bound to turn the sheets of anyone in love and having fun. For More Information On Xavier Omär Click Here
