Song Review: Coldplay Gets Romantic With “All I Can Think About Is You”
Leave it to Coldplay to make a song, All I Can Think About Is You, that is socially poignant, sonically trippy, and oddly romantic all, at once. As Chris Martin gives his voice an unusually dark tone, he sings lines that could not be more relevant like “chaos giving orders”. Yet, of course, nothing like love to make you, thematically, say, “I maybe a fish out of water, but, at least, I feel like I can still breath with you”. While the song starts slowly, it builds into mythic proportions as Martin belts in hope and affirmation “All I Can Think About Is You!”. The guitars chime and the drums bash as he pulses through with love that, despite a world dwindling into darkness, somehow the love of a good partner makes you still feel light. Coldplays unmatched capacity to exhilarate and calm you into life’s arms, all at once, makes the release of their upcoming EP, Kaleidoscope, on July 14, a guaranteed joyous occasion.
