Album Review: Tourist Gives You The Best Music To “Wash”

I reviewed Tourist’s last LP, U, and Wash EP is certainly proof that he is growing better. His last EP only further his endeavor to make music that amps and jolts you awake. For Tourist, music should not only make you body run, it should do the same for your mind.

It is clear when, compared to U, that Tourist is opening himself to even more sonic experimentation. He has taken the ethereal nature of U, and brought it down to a factory feel like, having Heaven in a club warehouse like in “Apart ft Jones”. The result is a warp between synths that seem as light and eternal as this afterlife destination, and baselines/ analog that feel forcefully typed by a computer known as life. The clash between aerial and machined soundscapes makes Wash’s four songs flow into each other like scenes of a film. From “We Stayed Up All Night feat Ardyn” to “Hush”, Wash EP may be a brief look into the future sounds of Tourist, but it is a promising one. Moreover, it shows exactly what every DJ desires to impress upon his listeners; he can grow.

No artist, especially a DJ/ producer, wants to stay stuck on one sound/ mix style. Thus, keep on growing Tourist…. or shall I say washing! (I promise to never make a joke again!). To Buy Wash on October 27 and learn more about Tourist Click Here.
