If my readers know one thing is that I LOVE imagination. I relish when music takes me into a new world, and Wash & Set feels like a doorway into an outlandishly hypnotic hotel. Each track is a floor filled with the bizarre but beautiful characters/ verses of Leikeli47. For this rising rapper, every verse is a crossroad between Hell and Heaven. Tracks like “Don’t Do It” , “O.M.C”, and “Ho” bring out the hellish domain of her mind as she uncovers and undoes anyone that comes from her. She is piercingly aware of how her flow catches the beat to the point that she reveals rhythm for its elemental nature and makes the melody her voice. “Attitude” or “Bubblegum” feels like a cross between first and earth. You almost want to march with flags and flame-throwers as the bassline feels like it is holding Carnival and Leikeli47 is inviting you to shake. Then, you have tracks like “M I L K” or “Elian’s Revenge” that feel like water and sky; no matter how much their basslines or synth-waves drop like rain, you feel breezed and refreshed by its touch. Yet, her sick riddims are only amped by her mystique as a vocalist and artist.

Leikeli47 has many creative allures to her benefit. This masked rapper knows how to use levels of mystery and noir in her arrangements to give her music a fun seediness. You feel like you are going to vogue and steal a Ferrari. She ignites in you the “badassery”; the aspect of yourself that feels so wrongfully denied, and you wish to have one night to rule over you. Her ability to make defending yourself, being wild, and showing love as components of strength make her a rockstar, but her unstoppable fluidity as lyrical master make her a Queen of Hip Hop.
