Album Review: Maroon 5’s Red Pill Blues Is Their Most Confident Record Yet

Maroon 5’s Red Pill Blues is exactly what you expect. By now, Maroon 5 have captured a sound that is 100% them; moody pop, electro- rock that pines over lovers that seem to be stuck in the revolving doors of the heart. Yet, the beauty of having your own, distinguished sound is that you become instantly recognizable in the good you offer and can only grow in offering it. When you hear Maroon 5, you know its Maroon 5, and Red Pill Blues is them at their most confident, best yet.
Maroon 5 – What Lovers Do ft. SZA

Confident, delectable, and 100% made for every radio station in the universe, I have no doubt that Red Pill Blues will probably be a hit even in Saturn. With guest stars like SZA, Kendrick Lamar, and Future, Maroon 5 smash their pop sensibilities the with crown jewels of Hip Hop to make golden tracks like, “Don’t Wanna Know”, “What Lovers Do”, and “Cold”. The result is a mutual growth in sound for each artist, of which Maroon 5 drives the dancing aspects of their music. “Visions” and “Best 4 U” definitely feel like they could be played under the lights of Ibiza, while “Wait”, “Girls Like You”, and “Bet My Heart” have a light reggae or funkadelic patterns simmered to feel like specks in their slow quilting of love. Maroon 5 always makes songs as if they are mutually slow and fast. For however they pace, you want to zoom through rooms like Cool-Aid Man, while Adam Levine’s cherry vocals juice you up. Again, I love when I know I am hearing an artist, and Adam Levine, from“Closure” to “Whiskey (feat A$AP Rocky)”, serves those high notes and girded “emotes” that fans love.
Maroon 5, Julia Michaels – Help Me Out (Lyric Video) ft. Julia Michaels

I cannot gush about Red Pill Blues enough! It is pure mainstream pop splashed with other genre fusions to keep their sound intriguing but, again, strictly theirs. As one of the biggest, most enduring Pop Acts, Maroon 5 prove something that I constantly mention on my site; you can grow without changing who you are. Red Pill Blues is Maroon 5 at their essential best, but also their most grown as an artist. Click Here For More Information And To Buy Maroon 5’s Red Pill Blues.
