Concert Review: LPX Paints Baby’s All Right With Red Ferocity

LPX rocked her first NYC, deadlining show at Baby’s All Right, and the love she felt was in the air. It was clear the rising songstress was jittering at the idea that this is the beginning to new beginnings. A HEADLINING TOUR! She was all smiles and buzzing with an eagerness to prove why SHE was the main attraction.
LPX – Tightrope

Coming out in a lipstick red, glossed jumpsuit, LPX might as well have called herself “Lady In Red”. She looked like a cosmic superhero ready to jujitsu any plank of wooden “personalities” that tried to simmer how adrenalized she wanted to make everyone. There was not ONE SONG that went without a hair flip or a head bash, and with her long, gorgeous red locks, it was enough to make Garnier Fructis hire her on the spot. I marvel at her “hairography” because it gave an element of rock n’ roll to her presence that is not so overtly felt in her recorded sound. When listened to at home, tracks such as, “Tremble” and “Tightrope”, feel like a factory of indie electronica. Dark synths wave like black flags in the night, as LPX’s voice commands your attention and a magical oath of fellowship. Yet, when live, the music takes a step back to the grated ferocity of LPX’s voice. It is as if million of holes are poked into her vocals so that volcanic fire and smoke can spew out, and erupt every emotion from the crowd. For all the physical energy and movement she carries on stage, she never misses a note or shows a tiring of her strength. She want to look like a musical fortress, and that type of affirmed spirit is what drew the crowd to non-stop “Woos!” and their own attempts at “hair-flipping”. Yet, again, my obsession became with how intelligently she plays her vocals as if her lyrics came from an Oscar-winning script.
LPX – Tremble

LPX’s music is easily sing-along. She coos and creates catchy hooks that within seconds might as well be pressed into the vinyl of your mind. Thus, it is easy to like her show and feel welcomed by its blissful vibe. Yet, every artist wants more than like; they want love. LPX understands that to rise from headlining Baby’s All Right to headlining MSG, you have to be more than a presence on stage; you have to be one in the crowd. The way she acted out her songs and made direct connections to people in the crowd was brilliant, and will further the burgeoning loyalty she is gaining. At one point, she grabbed the hand of a front-row fan, and danced with him to his evident joy. This moment may seem small, but it is that instant that turned a guy that like and followed LPX into a permanent “stan”. He will never forget how she sang and moved with him, and that is how you go from rising to risen artist. Like LPX, you make the audience feel like your music only matters to you because it matters to them, and that is how they will stay connected. For More Information ON LPX Click Here.
