Concert Review: Pandora Holiday Live Must Become A Personal Tradition

Pandora Music’s concert,  Pandora Holiday Live, was a fabulous and free experience. This concert could have, easily, gone for 120 dollars in ticket pricing, with exceptional artists like Bishop Briggs, Bastille, and The 1975 playing Pandora Radio’s venue of the night, Pier 36. Finding this gem of a concert series was like finding a high-end boutique in your bedroom. New York has so much to offer, and Pandora Holiday Live MUST become one of your personal holiday traditions after last night’s experience.

As I entered the huge warehouse, I was succumb by the instant feel of Christmas. Red and white lights whisked around the room with white Christmas trees, and booths for advertisers offering prizes and promotions. The immediate holiday feel warmed me with excitement, and built the already felt notion that “Tonight is going to be great!”.  In terms of visuals and pacing, the night could not have gone better, and people’s own happiness, at seeing premier artists, moved them to show their nice, jolly Christmas spirit. And so it was with these artists that made sure the fourth  annual Pandora Holiday Live thrived in magnificence:

I have reviewed Bishop Briggs before, and this young woman is bound to be a star. Her hit River” is one of the best singles of the year and is garnering a fanbase that loves her rocker vocals and eccentric image. She is clearly making moves in the industry as a strong, female vocalist with lyrics that shows the discrepancies of love. Last night, Pandora Holiday Live did her justice by giving her a wide venue,  church visuals, and and an epic sound system that could elevate the vision of this artist.

Bastille is ready for their major headlining performance at Barclays Center. They came onto the stage with a dynamism that played well into their friendly, anarchic vibe. These men are indie-rockers that promote the revolutionary aspect of their fans. With glamorized images of news reels, war pictures, and beauty shots, it is clear they want to tackle the superficiality of life with very real lyrics and rock n’ roll instrumentals that coursed through the air with power. Check Out Their Hit, “Fake It“.
The 1975 closing off the night was like finding an extra cherry on your sundae; you are unbelievably happy to find this sweet addition. By now, lead singer Matt Healy can do no wrong. He is king to his fans, and encapsulated the coolness, mischievousness, and strangeness of a frontman. He has the aura of a creative genius that is deeply misunderstood by everyone except his fans that follow him like magnets to metal. Everyone was eating up his Mick Jagger moves and Don Draper cigarette breaks mid-song. Check out their hit “Somebody Else“.
Pandora Holiday Live is a high-caliber experience that is open to all. With thousands going to Pier 36, the whole night felt like a major concert or music festival at an acclaimed arena. It is hard to gush further about this event because it should be experienced by everyone. If you missed this year’s Pandora Holiday Live, I am positive it will be back bigger and better next year. So keep your eyes and ears open! Moreover, look to Pandora for some great concert series. The radio-internet station has been stepping up even further as a music “taste-maker” by making  exceptional concerts and events for the public that I am sure other streaming/ radio services will soon copy. Yet, nothing is like the original, so check out Pandora Music Here.
