Concert Review: Shaed Is New Beginnings At Terminal 5

Motherhood changes you, even before you have the baby. They say that a father becomes a dad when he sees the child, but a mother becomes a mom from the beginning. Now, I’m not saying you, necessarily, ADORE your child before having it…. You have to meet it. Yet, there is a certain “glow” that happens at knowing life is within you, and Shaed never needed any extra help at singing to life. Yet, their music feels amplified by what happens to all of us: we grow up.

I have been following Shaed for years, so seeing Chelsea Lee’s belly was so CUTE!!!!!!! It was like seeing an old friend becoming a new person, and gave their music a new light. Part of why Shaed has garnered commercial success is because they sing to aiming for something. Even their big hit, “Trampoline,” was about taking a leap, of which motherhood is, probably, the biggest leap. In this, I became nostalgic thinking of the first time I saw Shaed, performing at a party; a group of  friends trying to “make it” in America to, now, opening for Aurora and starting their own families. In a way, I felt like I was watching the final episode of Friends.

Okay, SUPER RANDOM CONNECTION! Yet, I was watching a BTS of Friends, in which the creators asked themselves, what signifies the end of your 20s , and it is when your “chosen family of friends” start having their own, actual families. I thought that was such a beautiful note. Now, nearly one month away from 2022, it is hard not to imagine the new beginnings this “angel year,” 222 literally meaning choosing a higher path for greater results, Shaed’s music and performance, as always, is for those that know its time for a fresh start.  For More Information On Shaed Click Here.
