Song Review: Justine Skye “U Don’t Know” Is Caribbean Flared Electro-Pop

Electro-pop with a Caribbean based rhythm? Yes, Please! Justine Skye has released the video for her newest single “U Don’t Know”. The purple hued video makes Skye appears like a regal queen dancing for her on-screen love interest, Machine Gun Kelly.  The track which features Wizkid pumps electricity into listeners’ musical veins through a stylishly cool beat, and further Skye as a smooth songstress. 

While Skye radiates in looks and vocals, “U Don’t Know” stands out as a melodic track for a lyrical truth: sometimes, lovers have no idea their hold over you. While “U Don’t Know” is clear and crisp in  its catchy hook and synthesized tuning, it also delves for the difficulty of trying to hide how much influence your partner has over you.  While the track is certainly “dance-worthy’, I enjoyed Skye’s straight- toned voice goldenly lacing the pain and passion that goes into not giving all your power to your partner.
