Song Review: Neiked Shows A Colorful,Cartoonish World In “Sexual”

Leave it to the Swedes to teach America the fun of being sexual. Scandinavia is known for its freer, at least, approach to sex and its public discussion. Thus, it is no surprise that Stockholm native Neiked has made a comical, electro-pop art homage to the often tabooed subject of sex through his new track, “Sexual”. After all, his name is a pun on the word naked.

Frankly, “Sexual”  lyric video belongs in Amsterdam’s Museum of Sex. It is a neon-lit cartoon that displays the many ways that love is expressed through the art of physical touch: sex. The video will make you giggle, but also make you wonder about how sex can run from extremes of over-discussion to none at all.  This pondering is due to featured singer Dyo’s voice being like icing on cake; her vocals are the sugary favorite of listeners and bring out the lyrical sweetness of lust.
Often, when we think of lust, it is seen as sinful and an uncontrollable passion. which it can become. Yet. for most, especially in relationships, lust is a spiritual desire to show one’s emotion physically. The idea of sex as a fun pleasure is not unknown and isn’t always welcomed for fear that everyone will rage and go off like two dinosaurs copulating, an image you can see in the video. Yet, through bouncing, techno vibes and warm words on the act that has defined the continuation of human life, Neiked reminds listeners that lust between partners is also considered an act of love, which can be manifested in being “Sexual”. The song exemplifies that wanting your partner, both physically and spiritually, is apart of being together. For More Information on Neiked Click Here
