Album Review: Nanna B. Is The “Golden” Priestess of Sensuality

Nanna B. knows the sensuality of sexiness, and her new EP Golden is four tracks that make you want to turn down the lights and light a candle. There is something fearless to soul music that does not ask for sex as much as touch, does not fiend for pleasure as much as passion, and wishes for love between two souls and bodies rather than lust. Nanna B. shows the difference with a simmering elegance.

I swear that Nanna B’s voice was made from the jewels of a king’s crown. Rubies and gold fall over songs “Antidote” and “Apocalyptic Love” as she sings like she has been lost in deserts and galaxies looking for the love of her life. We all have had those humanly, poignant urges to feel touched by someone who loves us. To hold in our arms and be held by someone who wants our best and feels we are worth being healed more than wounded. Thus, there is something naturalistic to Nanna B’s voices that plays into the futuristic vibes and sonics of her songs such as, “Steady Line” , “AU”, and “Golden”. Then Anderson .Paak – backed artist is in good company of musicians that concur; if you do not feel music in your soul then a song is rendered useless. In many ways, the same can be said for love and sensuality. If you do not feel a relationship in your heart then it becomes nothing to your soul. Thus, Golden may be 15 minutes, but it is shows the glory of time.

Do yourself a favor and escape into Golden. I could listen to this EP everyday because it show the beauty of a bond physically and spiritually. Nanna B’s voice is raw, fleshed soul that flows through every slow rhythm and synth like a creek framed from time for its beauty. To Buy Golden EP and To Learn More About Nanna B. Click Here.
