Concert Review: Bruno Major Takes Center Stage At LPR

Bruno Major is one of the funniest, sweetest artists you can see; approaching his fans like family. Thus, the change of stage at LPR was perfect; making him, literally, center for a crowd that finds him central to their universe. With instagrams abound, Bruno introduced new songs and went through the classics of his last album, A Song For Every Moon.

The entire night had a very MTV Unplugged vibe, which made the already inviting singer feel even more intimate and open. The great thing about Bruno is that he is an unfiltered but kind personality. He is unmaliciously hilarious and has no qualms telling a crowd how he has no butt or steals lyrics from his mom. He is outlandish in humor, but it fuels how insular he is as a lyricist. For Major, every song feels like a question, “How am I feeling?” How am I feeling about the one I love? How am I feeling about myself?

Yes, songs are emotional but not all are inquisitive. Major’s music feels like it searching for every answer as to why love feels so good and its loss feels so bad. This may seem basic, but it leads to detailed verses that paint portraits of every day coupledom. This explains why the audience was filled by the “boo’d up” and those that wish to be. The division was felt, but it was not abrasive. Instead, Bruno’s show felt like an appreciation forum for relationships, and how they do make us better. Yet, new songs such as, “Tapestry,” show that Major is moving the self-love route, and I am here for it.

Vocally and sonically, Major feels like jazz. He creates songs the breed chill ambiances through elaborate, R&B arrangements and ranged vocality. He has no problem throwing in a vocal or guitar riff so as to make you feel high in music. Suddenly, rhythms were something you breathed in and exhaled, which is, exactly, how love can feel like for Mr. Major. For More Information On Bruno Major Click Here.
