Diandra Reviews The Top 10 Concerts of 2017

I do not think that it is by chance that the 2017 was a terrible year for the world, but one of the best for music. Why? Because MUSIC HEALS PEOPLE! How many times, when were down, did we turn to a song or say, “Forget IT! I’m going to see a show!”. When life turns up the pressure, we turn up the sound, and here are a few of my FAVE concerts of 2017. (Mind you I could only pick a few, but I love THEM ALL!)

  1. Snoh Aalegra –  Click Here For Original  Review

It is hard to sound better than the record, especially when you have a good voice. Yet, that is when you go into pure riff mode. Snoh Aalegra enraptured a crowd by making her vocals the literal, silver lining of the night, and though many were there to see Daniel Caesar, they were delighted to find a new fave in Snoh.

     2. H.E.R –  Click Here For Original  Review

Going to see H.E.R. is like traveling back to 90’s R&B with your boo/ bae. This is 100% a show for lovers or, at least, a fan of love, which even the songstress admitted. She is all about promoting this virtue as if it, itself, is coming out with a record, and, maybe, it did though her album H.E.R. Vol 2.

    3.  NAO –  Click Here For Original  Review

NAO is an absolute sweetheart, which makes her vocals and Prince-inpired rhythms drip like honey. She is always in awe at her own rising success, which makes you want it for her even MORE! Add on that she gives a show that is 100% about dancing, and how could you not buy a ticket?

     4. Flint Eastwood –  Click Here For Original  Review

You ever see someone have SO MUCH energy you that you feel like you need to sit down. WELP! That is Flint Eastwood. She is a COMMANDING performer, and I mean that in a literal sense. If she tells you to jump, then you leap like frog. Her energy is exhilarating, and makes her a superbly fun show.

      5. First Aid Kit –  Click Here For Original  Review

These Swedish sisters know how to make a folk song stomp across the country floors of your mind. Their tracks march from the stage,  and make you wonder what have YOU been doing with your youth. These ladies barely make it to 21, but are oddly soundtracking every moment you have had in a bar: from breakups, make-ups, friendship exchanges, to life moments. Get READY FOR THESE SISTERS!

    6. The Regrettes –  Click Here For Original  Review

No REGRETS HERE! These high-schoolers are FANTASTIC at performing. Lydia Night is the reincarnation of Sid Vicious, minus all the personal problems and the fact that she has been featured on the cover of Vogue. If you had looked for me in high-school, you would have probably found me in the janitor’s closet hiding from gym class. Thus, I am happy the next generation is trying to move UP from places (lol!).

    7.  Bishop Briggs –  Click Here For Original  Review

Like Flint Eastwood, Briggs could run a MILE on stage, and not break a sweat. What is so wonderful about her show is that she is incredibly connected with her music. By how she sings, (and she can HIT A NOTE!), you realize that every lyric came from her heart. It is a beautiful epiphany because, often, we do not see that our hearts are what help us kick ass. Thus, having music that could make anyone feel like they had the power of God, while also confronting every time you felt less than human, makes her show excellent.

    8. SZA –  Click Here For Original  Review

Like SYD, SZA is a show for boo/bae, and like NAO, she is so sweet. She simply appears like your best friend is finally making it big. She tells her humorous advice and relatable adages on what it is to be young, talented, eager to love, and completely lost on what all those things mean. Thus, get ready to dance on common-ground when you see her show.

   9.  The Staves –  Click Here For Original  Review

Another group of sisters that know how to etch out fierce as if their songs were the lines leading to empowerment. Not only are these British ladies funny, but they serve a “No F**ks Given” attitude, that like Haim, make you want to ask your mom if she secretly gave birth to another pair of musical sisters you never met.

    10.  Iron & Wine –  Click Here For Original  Review

I love to chill and laugh. I am 100% that person who rolls into the house party, and finds the couch to people watch. (I am a creeper!) Thus, I was delighted to see the good humor and relaxing music Iron & Wine offers to his shows. He rolls the jokes out, and then sings some of the most thoughtful songs on the human experience.
